Aintree Racecourse
Aintree Racecourse – 170 Years Young
I don’t know how she does it but Aintree Racecourse looks damn good for an event that has been officially going for 170 years. It would have been a challenge to start up such an event 170 years ago and the Aintree Racecourse has survived more than most, two world wars, the Great Depression (don’t mention depression), it seems as if she is indestructible. The Aintree Racecourse now looks like it is recession proof, due to commitment and determination of the guys who work in and around the horse racing world.
History and events like the Grand National are there to teach us lessons so we don’t experience the same hardships that they went through. I am sure that race tracks around the world have been lost in time due to the fact that they didn’t achieve more and lost motivation to keep horse racing thriving.
How did Aintree Racecourse survive and how is it continuing to do so when there seems during recent times nothing but doom and gloom? How does horse racing compete against the Internet, Wii and a host of other technological buzz games that are around now.
In answer to this we can look at a number of winning elements the Aintree Racecourse and the Grand National horse racing event provide:
• It is real! You can see it, you can touch it and it is enjoyable. When you place a bet at the Grand National at Aintree you feel as if you are in a foreign country (it is a foreign language) and you experience the thrill of the hunt that horse racing provides
• Her style secret is super charged, the atmosphere of the Aintree Racecourse is electric and invigorating, forget exercise classes, jump up and down at the races
• She’s a show off and why shouldn’t she be, any thing that has been around this long deserves to be in the limelight – she is positively radiant
• If the Aintree Racecourse were a perfume what would this horse racing course smell like, forget the sweat of the horse and the rider, forget the smell of chunks of race course as they are dug up by pure force of energy – the only smell for the Aintree Racecourse is the sweet, sweet smell of success.
You will arrive at the Grand National with a thousand things on your mind, but standing by the race course cheering on your horse, or sitting in the restaurant enjoying a delicious meal or even just a pint you will come away without a care in the world and maybe, if you are lucky a few pounds in your pocket.
